Events Mark the 72nd Anniversary of Atomic Bombings

Remembering Hiroshima, Imaginging Peace is organizing the following events to reflect on the 72nd anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Considering the anniversary is more relevant than ever given world events and a new administration in the White House. Please join us!

July 17 – July 31: ExhibitionStrange Beauty: Autoradiography from Fukushima.”
City-County Building lobby, open during business hours
414 Grant Street (downtown)

An exhibition by photojournalist Takashi Morizumi comprised of 25 panels featuring the land, people, and remains of Fukushima along with photographs of abandoned objects revealing the radiation they contain. See more about the exhibit here.

July 31: 10:00am City Council Proclamation
City Council Chambers

Remembering Hiroshima, Imagining Peace will receive a Proclamation from Pittsburgh City Council.

August 5, 6pm: Film “The Day the Sun Fell” followed by Skyping with peace activists
Harris Theater, 809 Liberty Ave. (downtown)
